Well Good Morning! Happy Friday to everyone!
Today is looking much brighter than the last two days, regardless of the cloudy sky. The last few days were a little rough. Wednesday, I woke up to a lovely mess that my dog Lucy made, which required me to bleach and mop the floors. That was fun! (insert sarcasm) I thought to myself, this day will only get better from here out, WRONG. It was the day, that for the first time, I got locked out of my house.
I had finished cleaning my dog’s mess up, showered, and was getting ready for the day when the girl next door came over to ask to go to the commissary with me. I told her that I would take her, but first, I needed to take Lucy outside to go potty. So, we went outside to walk the dog and she pulled the door shut behind her. The bad part about that is- my door automatically locks when you close it. So here we are outside, with no keys, and I do not have my cell phone either. It also started to rain, which made it oh so much better.
I tried using her cell phone to call my husband (who is in flight training) but got no answer. Then, I asked if maybe her boyfriend (who is also in training with my husband, but on a different schedule) could take me to my husband to get the spare key and she said no. What in the world??? I wanted to scream, “um, you locked us out, so you fix it!” I refrained. Instead, I stood out in the rain until my neighbor asked me if I needed help. He was kind enough to take me to my husband’s flight room where I was able to get the spare key from him. Thank heavens for my neighbor!! He was definitely a life save to do that for me, who knows how long I would have been standing out in the rain! My husband works 12 hour days, so unless I would have walked across base to another spouse’s house, it could have been a while.
Well, the next day was a little better (Thursday). I went into work, but then after only sitting at my desk for a short time, I fell asleep. Yes, literally fell asleep at my desk (another first time). I had been so exhausted from the previous day, that I suppose my body just decided to shut down. The only thing that kept me awake the rest of the day, was my friend sending an article about the Sequestration/Budget FY2014. It talked about the ways the Sequestration would affect the military if the budget does not get passed. Wow, did that scare me!
I can only pray that it gets better from here on out, and that today turns out to be much more encouraging than the other days I have had this week!
